Privacy & affiliate disclosure
Seat Your Family is built to be private by default: your seating charts never leave your device. This page explains exactly what that means, plus how we handle analytics, advertising, and affiliate links.
Your seating charts stay on your device
This tool runs entirely in your browser. The seating charts you create are saved in your browser's local storage on your own device. We do not have a server that stores your guest names, table layouts, or any chart data, and that data is never uploaded to us. Clearing your browser data will delete your saved charts, so export a PDF of anything you want to keep.
Information we do and don't collect
We don't ask you to create an account, and we don't collect names, email addresses, or guest information through the planner. The only information we process is aggregate, privacy-preserving analytics (below) and, if you buy the ad-free upgrade, the limited transaction data handled by our payment processor.
Analytics
We use privacy-first web analytics to count visits and understand which features are used, in aggregate. Our analytics are designed to be cookieless and to avoid collecting personal data or fingerprinting visitors. We use this only to improve the tool and our guides — never to build advertising profiles.
Advertising
The free version of this tool shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and in some cases to personalize them based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can learn more, and manage your ad personalization, in Google's advertising policy and at Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of personalized advertising from participating providers at aboutads.info/choices.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be asked for your consent before personalized ads are shown, via Google's consent message. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time.
Cookies
The planner itself uses your browser's local storage (not cookies) to save your chart and remember whether you've purchased the ad-free upgrade. Third parties such as Google AdSense may set cookies as described above; where required, these are only set after you consent.
Affiliate disclosure
Some links on this site (for example, the “Wedding extras” suggestions and a credit line in the exported PDF) are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We only link to products we believe are relevant to planning a wedding. This site participates in one or more affiliate programs and may earn from qualifying purchases. The ad-free version shows neither ads nor affiliate links.
The ad-free purchase
You can remove ads with a one-time $2.99 purchase. Payments and license keys are handled by Lemon Squeezy (our merchant of record); we never see your card details. See the Lemon Squeezy privacy policy. Your ad-free license is stored in your browser's local storage on your device, the same as your charts.
Children's privacy
The Service is intended for adults planning events and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices and rights
Because we don't hold your charts or build user profiles, there's very little personal data for us to retain. You can clear all locally stored data at any time through your browser settings. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves or as legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date at the top of this page.
